Adoption Panel Chairing: experience of chairing three different adoption panels for a local authority adoption consortium in the South East of England. Work included recruiting and undertaking performance reviews panel members; working with adoption advisors from the local authorities concerned over panel business, chairing adoption panel meetings, monitoring post-panel actions and liaising with local authority Senior Managers over the strengths and weaknesses of practice and broader systemic issues impacting on the work of adoption panels.
Reviews of children looked after by the local authority: extensive experience of directly developing and managing a local authority IRO service, undertaking selective statuary reviews in sensitive contexts and chairing panels to review the placement of children in secure accommodation in various parts of the country.
HR related panels: experience of chairing panels associated with recruitment, disciplinary and grievance issues.
Multi-agency partnerships: experience of chairing local inter-agency child protection strategic partnerships and CAMHS partnership. Also experienced in serving on other multi-agency fora including those concerned with primary health care and crime and disorder reduction.
